Rylan Clark-Neal and hubby set to be first gay couple to present chat show This Morning

Couple are set to make their presenting duo debut on 8 July

BIG Brother’s Bit on the Side presenter Rylan Clark-Neal and his husband Dan Neal are set to become the first gay couple to present daytime telly show This Morning.

The couple, who were married on 7 November last year, is the latest in a growing line of famous couples to grace the sofa – including Richard and Judy, and Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

They will debut on the show as lead presenters on 8 July while Eamonn and Ruth go on holiday.

A source close to the show told The Mirror: “Rylan is hugely popular with the This Morning audience and working with Dan again will provide key chemistry a show like this requires with its hosts.”

Rylan, 27, has become a firm favourite on the daytime flagship show, hosting his own showbiz themed segment dubbed Ry-land, and calling the show his ‘second home’.

Since being a contestant on X Factor back in 2012, Rylan has made his move over to presenting and has become known for his cheeky demeanour and double entendres.

It was through his work on Channel 5’s Big Brother, where he presents spin-off Bit on the Side, that he met Dan, who participated in the show’s 14th series in 2013.

The couple shunned celeb norms and didn’t sell their wedding photographs- choosing instead to share their big day memories on This Morning.

Speaking to main hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, Rylan showed off his wedding photos including the pair at their dinner table and selfie shots with Katie Price and Claire Richards from Steps, who acted as their bridesmaid.

The move onto the screen marks a big career change for Dan – who originally had a career as a police officer and worked with Scotland Yard for Operation Yewtree.
