CITY CUT ABOVE REST

Arsenal transfer news: Alexis Sanchez ‘willing to take pay cut’ as he is so desperate to join Man City

Chilean forward thinks Pep Guardiola's side will give him the best shot at filling his trophy cabinet as he approaches 30

ALEXIS SANCHEZ is willing to effectively take a pay cut to join Manchester City, according to reports.

The Citizens are offering lower terms than Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, as well as the Gunners.

But the Independent claims Sanchez, 28, is desperate to link up with Pep Guardiola - handing City the advantage.

He has just one year remaining on his contract and has shown no desire to sign an extension.

Bayern reportedly feel Sanchez's representatives quoted huge terms because of his preference for an Etihad switch.

The Germans have been put off by the demands - leaving City as the most viable option, although PSG could return if they fail to land Neymar.

But Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is adamant Sanchez will not be leaving in this window after managing to convince fellow contract rebel Mesut Ozil to sign up.

And Arsenal chiefs would prefer a move abroad should they change their tune after being criticised by fans for strengthening their rivals.

City's offer would still be almost double Sanchez's current contract but the former Barcelona star wants trophies not cash.

He has just one European league title to his name - La Liga in 2012-13 - and sees City as the best chance to add to his haul.
