Manchester United ‘making progress’ in Alvaro Morata talks as it emerges Chelsea have not made offer
Real Madrid striker has fuelled talk of a move to Old Trafford and negotiations between agents continue
MANCHESTER UNITED are "making progress" in their talks with Alvaro Morata - as it emerges Chelsea have not made an offer for the Real Madrid striker.
Morata has fuelled speculation regarding a move to Old Trafford but a fee between the clubs is yet to be agreed.
Jose Mourinho has identified the unsettled Morata as the man he wants to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
And the Portuguese hopes a deal could be secured before United to the United States for pre-season on July 9, say ESPN.
Mourinho missed out on Antoine Griezmann after he opted to stay at Atletico Madrid - and reports in Spain have backed up claims talks between Morata and United are ongoing.
Zinedine Zidane looks set to bid for Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe.
But reports have claimed they are waiting for United to make a firm move for Morata before committing.
It is thought personal terms between United and Morata will be straightforward because of the striker's willingness to move to England.
And Mbappe's arrival at the Bernabeu is likely to push Morata further towards the exit.
