MANCHESTER UNITED are "making progress" in their talks with Alvaro Morata - as it emerges Chelsea have not made an offer for the Real Madrid striker.

Morata has fuelled speculation regarding a move to Old Trafford but a fee between the clubs is yet to be agreed.

But reports have claimed they are waiting for United to make a firm move for Morata before committing.

It is thought personal terms between United and Morata will be straightforward because of the striker's willingness to move to England.

And Mbappe's arrival at the Bernabeu is likely to push Morata further towards the exit.

The Spain star, who returned to Real Madrid last summer after two seasons at Juventus, made just 14 La Liga starts last season.

And it appears the Red Devils could have a free run at him, with reports saying Chelsea have not shown any interest.
