Spurs winger lay face down on the Wembley pitch and was seen wiping face with sleeve after final whistle

SPURS star Heung-Min Son cried on the pitch after his side crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Juventus.

The South Korea star put Mauricio Pochettino's side ahead after 39 minutes of their second-leg clash at Wembley.

But two second-half goals in the space of three minutes from Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala overturned the deficit for a 3-4 aggregate win.

Harry Kane came inches away from equalising on the night but his header somehow failed to cross the line.

And the last-16 exit appeared too much for Son after the final whistle at Wembley.

He fell to the turf overcome with emotion and was seen wiping his eye with his sleeve.

Son's team-mate Davinson Sanchez was seen consoling him at the end - as Dybala went off to celebrate Juventus' stunning comeback.

And the Spurs goalscorer on the night was not alone in his grief.

Sanchez also went over to Kieran Trippier to give him a helping hand up off the pitch.

Just seconds earlier the full-back was seen on his haunches with his head in his hands.

Son said after the match: "I'm proud of my team-mates and proud of the fans.

"I'm very sorry to the supporters as they expected more. It hurts, but that's football and we need to go again."

Tottenham will now turn their attention back to the Premier League.

They have a tricky trip to Bournemouth on Sunday looking to consolidate their place in the top four.
