Boy, 11, makes horrifying discovery in the case of his pre-owned copy of GTA

He found a bag of deadly methamphetamine in the booklet of the game he bought at a store in Florida
 
 

A MUM was left fuming after her 11-year-old son found a bag of deadly methamphetamine in the case of his pre-owned copy of Grand Theft Auto V.

Kayla McAllister said her boy discovered the white powder inside a booklet in the copy of the game he bought at a GamesStop store in Tallahasse, Florida.

A police report filed with the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office confirmed the bag contained .6 grams of meth, Kotaku reports.

Kayla said she was "confused, nervous and scared" after learning video game - bought after her son traded some of his old games - might have exposed her son and three-year-old daughter to the highly addictive drug.

She told WTXL: "I didn't sleep the whole night that it happened.

She said she immediately called GameStop for an explanation and was told to call the company's corporate offices.

She added: "I've spoken to corporate and they're investigating. They actually offered me a video game to replace it. If something had happened to my child, they couldn't have been replaced.

"I want parents to be aware that they need to check everything because drugs are everywhere now."

In a statement, GamesStop said: "We are disappointed to hear about the experience one of our customers recently had when purchasing a pre-owned video game from one of our local Tallahassee stores.

"We work diligently to ensure the quality of our pre-owned items are like new.

"Unfortunately, in this circumstance our thorough process fell short. We are extremely concerned that this incident occurred, and are working with the local police department to support them in their investigation."
