BARNSLEY are believed to have joined the chase for Partick Thistle’s in-demand defender Liam Lindsay.

SunSport revealed yesterday that the Scotland hopeful had travelled south for talks with Oxford United after the clubs had agreed a fee said to be in the region of £350,000.

The Jags had also insisted on a series of performance-related clauses and a substantial sell-on clause.

But they are by no means the only club in the running and big-spending Barnsley are said to have matched the offer.

It’s expected a number of other circling clubs will also now firm up their interest and start a bidding war that will only benefit Thistle as they look to get maximum value for their biggest asset.
