Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas lead celebrity tributes to the victims of the Barcelona terror attack
JENNIFER Lopez and Antonio Banderas have lent their support to those affected by the deadly terror attack in Barcelona.
After the news of attack came to light, some of the biggest names in showbiz reached out and sent their prayers to those who had lost their lives.
J-Lo, who wrote her message in Spanish, said: “Sending you much love and peace to the great city of Barcelona and all its beautiful people.”
Spanish actor Antonio echoed her sentiments and told his Twitter followers he was “fused in a hug with Barcelona”.
Following the heinous attack, police confirmed two suspects are in custody – a Spanish national from Melilla and a Moroccan – but neither was steering the vehicle despite being directly involved in the massacre.
Spanish cops are still hunting for the depraved driver of the vehicle which mowed through crowds.
As the night went on, more big names offered their support to those affected.
Frozen star Idina Menzel told her fans: “Sending love to my friends in Barcelona. Feeling helpless.”
Former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt said: “More heartbreak. Sending my love to Barcelona.”
The crash van entered a pedestrian area at the junction of Las Ramblas and Placa Catalunya at around 5pm local time on Thursday and ploughed into the sea of shoppers and tourists.

On hearing the news, JK Rowling said she was “thinking of everybody hurt and affected by yet another act of extremist brutality in one of the world's greatest cities”.
Liam Gallagher wrote: “Thoughts and prayers with all my brothers n sisters in Barcelona LG x.”
Tweeting to her followers, Demi said: “My thoughts and prayers are with Barcelona” while fellow US singer Cher said: “Sending love & Condolences 2 all The wonderful Ppl of Barcelona.
“I spent time in your glorious city. It Was filled with laughter & Beauty.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger also paid tribute and said: “My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and friends in Barcelona. Today, we all stand with Spain.”
Disturbing footage and pictures from the scene show bodies scattered around the blood splattered ground of the tourist hotspot as armed cops quickly responded to the emergency.
A huge explosion at a house in a town outside Barcelona on Wednesday is related to the terror rampage, cops said.
