Cristiano Ronaldo: AC Milan would trade Gianluigi Donnarumma to Real Madrid for superstar, claims director
Rossoneri supremo claims contract rebel is not worthy of the jersey as he talks up possibility of a swap deal
AC MILAN are prepared to let wonderkid Gianluigi Donnarumma join Real Madrid to lure Cristiano Ronaldo to Italy.
Director Massimiliano Mirabelli has floated the idea after it emerged the Portuguese superstar is desperate to leave Spain.
The news sparked a continent-wide transfer battle and Milan hope having one of Europe's hottest properties can give them the edge.
Mirabelli told Corriere dello Sport: “If Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid and they want Donnarumma, then we’re ready to talk to President Florentino Perez.”
Milan have offered Donnarumma, 18, a bumper new deal after he forced his way into the first team and installed himself as Gianluigi Buffon's natural heir.
And Mirabelli admitted he was hurt at the youngster's snub - accusing him of not respecting the jersey.

He added: “We wanted to make him a symbol of Milan for our fans and Gigio had everything required to fill that role.
“He would’ve had the captain’s armband and, frankly, it was an enormous offer, considering his young age and Milan’s situation - €25million (£21.85m) net over five years means €50m gross for the club.
“On a human level, we were upset, especially as there was no chance for negotiation.
"It’s not true that on Thursday there was tension with Raiola and we argued with him. We both simply took stock of the situation and went our separate ways.
“We are upset, naturally, just as our fans are. And I say that with the utmost respect for Gigio.
“Now we are looking for a goalkeeper worthy of Milan. Whoever plays for Milan must realise what this jersey means.”
Juventus are desperate to sign Donnarumma to continue their long history of having Italy's No1 between the sticks.
General manager Giuseppe Moratta has admitted that his club are planning a bid.
But Mirabelli insists he is not prepared to sell the starlet, unless he can be used to land Ronaldo.
Manchester United are in pole position to sign the Ballon d'Or winner after he began talks over his exit.
Ronaldo, 32, is angered to be accused of tax fraud and believes his time in Spain is at an end.
