Independent wrestler Wayne VanDyke dies aged 29 after suffering heart attack during fight

'Richard Delicious' collapsed during a match on April 29 but later died after being rushed to hospital

WRESTLER Wayne VanDyke has died after suffering a heart attack during a match.

The independent wrestler from Florida was tragically just 29-years-old when he collapsed during a match on April 29.

Known to his fans as Richard Delicious, he fell during a Ronin Pro Wrestling show after he told his tag team partner that he was feeling unwell.

According to Wrestling News, Van Dyke suffered a heart attack after he tagged out.

Medical staff rushed onto the scene and gave him CPR before he was taken to hospital.

VanDyke then suffered another heart attack in the ambulance before enduring a third when he arrived at hospital.

He was then put in a medically induced coma to prevent any further heart attacks.

VanDyke also suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung when he was receiving CPR.

His family confirmed the sad news in a Facebook post on Saturday.

The wrestler was active for a number of wrestling promotions in Florida.
