Manchester United transfer news: Bernardo Silva £42.5million deal talks in ‘advanced’ stage
MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly in advanced talks with Monaco star Bernardo Silva over a £42.5million switch.
Jose Mourinho is ready to dig deep for a second summer of crazy spending and is believed to have Silva high on his list of transfer targets.
The 22-year-old has blossomed into one of Europe’s finest playmakers and has played a key role for Monaco this season, scoring eight goals and assisting a further nine in all competitions.
The French giants are closing in on their first Ligue 1 title since 2000 and have also booked a Champions League semi-final spot against Juventus.
A number of their top names are wanted by some of Europe’s biggest clubs, but it seems United have all-but-won the race for Silva’s signature.
France Football via GFFN claims all parties are closing in on a £42.5m agreement, with the player seemingly set to take up permanent residence on the right of an attacking midfield three for United.
The Red Devils are also desperate to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann and Burnley defender Michael Keane, but Silva could turn out to be the biggest coup of all.
Chelsea and Real Madrid have both been credited with showing an interest, while Monaco’s vice-president Vadim Vasilyev recently claimed Silva wants to stay put.
