Brutally honest new mum reveals the truth ‘no one talks about’ after giving birth for the first time

Taking to her website, My Little Sunshine and Me, 20-year-old Chloe told the brutal truth about the aftermath from the birth of her first child, Elsie-Rose.

As she confesses, the reality of the process is "enough to scare anyone silly".

From toilet troubles to uncomfortable leakages elsewhere, Chloe's account of the realities of childbirth are likely to resonate with any first time mum.

Writing on her blog, Chloe revealed the difficulties surrounding her first trip to the bathroom as a mum.

Chloe wrote: "If you have given birth naturally... then this can be very daunting.

"When your brain finally tells you that you need to pee... your instinct is to think, no not today Sunshine."

But Chloe has a tip for other mums-to-be, which may help with the discomfort of their fast bathroom break.

She advises mums to have their first post-pregnancy tinkle in the shower, with lukewarm water applied to the sensitive areas.

Chloe revealed another aspect of pregnancy which nobody warned her about: jelly belly.

The new mum described the feeling as being similar to having "a bottle of water under your t-shirt".

She added: "Don’t get to disheartened by that or any extra baby weight you’ve added on through pregnancy.

"Pushing that pram and lifting a 10lbs baby in a car seat everywhere will surely help shift it."

The new mum also warned of the inevitable post-birth tiredness, which she says will hit almost every mum after the ordeal they've just been through.

Her advice to fellow mums is to not feel guilty about catching up on sleep - they'll need it over the coming months.

Chloe also revealed another uncomfortable truth about childbirth in the form of leaky nipples.

She joked: "Yeap that’s right. Those pretty little things on the end of your breasts suddenly turn into milk taps.

"There’s not much you can actually do other than try and make it more comfortable for yourself."

This comes after a mum-of-two shared photos showing her body at various stages after giving birth to show the reality of pregnancy.
