BAYERN MUNICH are sensationally set to swoop for Cristiano Ronaldo - which could see them end interest in Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez.
The Real Madrid star, 32, incredibly revealed he wants to leave Spain on Friday, with Carlo Ancelotti aiming to take full advantage, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ronaldo is said to feel the club has not protected him sufficiently after he was charged with allegedly evading £13million in tax.
El Confidencial claimed Real contacted all the Spanish media outlets and requested them not to publish pictures of Ronaldo in a Madrid shirt when covering the tax story.
The Euro 2016-winning forward was also puzzlingly left out of a video promo for Madrid’s new kit.
That prompted a host of European giants to ready themselves to launch a gigantic bid for the star - with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain the early race leaders.
However, CR7 is seemingly favouring a move back to Old Trafford, after telling the Telegraph in 2014: “I love Manchester.
"Everyone knows that. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there.
"The supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day."
On Sunday, with Ronaldo edging closer to forcing a move away, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane begged his star man to stay put.
Marca claim Zizou called the Portuguese forward - despite being away on a family holiday in Italy - saying: "Cris, we need you."
And the Madrid-based paper added that club president Florentino Perez remains reluctant to sell Ronaldo but would consider offers of around £175m - despite the Portuguese having an £870m release clause.
Yet Ronaldo's advisers have reportedly told clubs they believe a deal could be done for a lower fee of £131m, insisting he wants a "new challenge".
Now Bayern boss Ancelotti is set to test Real's mettle by launching an audacious bid.
The news will come as a relief to Arsenal fans, as the German giants could then end their interest in Sanchez - who has long been tipped to head to the Allianz Arena this summer.
Sanchez has just 12 months left on his Gunners contract and is looking to force a move away after a rocky season at the Emirates - on and off the pitch.
