MANCHESTER UNITED star Paul Pogba has revealed his goal celebration in Saturday's 4-1 win over Newcastle was a tribute to those "suffering slavery in Libya".
The French ace, 24, marked his comeback from injury with a man of the match performance, before taking to Instagram to explain his "crossed wrists" gesture after scoring.
Pogba put his wrists together after finding the net - Man United's third of the evening - before revealed on on Instagram.
The midfield star wrote: "While very happy to be back, my prayers go to those suffering slavery in Libya. May Allah be by your side and may this cruelty come to an end!"
Meanwhile, the French star midfielder thanked Man United fans for their support during his long lay-off with a hamstring injury.
In a separate Instagram post, he wrote: "Merci to everybody who was there for me during my recovery. Merci to all the fans, this one’s for you!"
Following his man of the match performance against Newcastle, Pogba explained how happy he is to be back on the pitch.
He said: "Of course, we won we got the three points that’s the most important thing.

"Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] came back, I came back and Marcos [Rojo] came back, we are happy.
"It hurts a lot [to watch from the sidelines] because you want to help the team and you can’t because you have to do your recovery."

“I see the same team. I feel the same atmosphere with the team.
"The season is very young it’s not about now it’s about the end of the season so the criticism we just forget about it."
After the game, Jose Mourinho reserved special praise for comeback-king Pogba, saying: "Paul Pogba is different class.
"Paul and Nemanja Matic grew up together at the start of the season and are the engine of the team."
