With Alvaro Morata heading for the Bernabeu exit and possibly to Manchester United, the European champions are in need of a back-up striker and the Malaga hitman fits the bill in terms of age and experience.

Ramirez, 21, saw his move to Atletico Madrid collapse following their transfer ban and is reported to have already undergone an Everton medical before the tournament.

The striker’s buy-out clause is £5.2million, so any firm interest from Los Blancos will be a huge spanner in the works for Ronald Koeman and his summer transfer plans.

The European Under-21 tournament has been a happy hunting ground for the Spanish giants in the past.
Sami Khedira was spotted in 2009 and Asier Illaramendi and Isco came to prominence in 2013.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane already has Marco Asensio on his books but is also monitoring Real Betis youngster Dani Cabellos, who has made an impact in Poland.

Zidane is also on the hunt for a new goalkeeper, with Italian star Gianluigi Donnarumma on his radar.
The teenage keeper has been outstanding for AC Milan and is yet to agree a new deal with the Italians, with Manchester United also keeping tabs on him.
