A BABY carrier has been pulled from shelves after some of them were found to have a faulty clip that could cause parents to drop their baby.

If you have a Red Kite three way carrier then you should stop using it immediately.

The manufacturers claimed that the carrier could hold babies who weigh up to 12kg, but the faulty clip puts the child and user at risk.

The baby carriers were sold online at Asda, Tesco and Amazon and cost around £15.

It can be worn on your front or your back using the adjustable padded shoulder straps.

The affected products were sold between November 2017 and April 2018, and have a batch code of RK 2899, RK 2900, RK 2901 and RK 3003.

In a recall notice issued on the Trading Standards website, the firm behind the carriers wrote: "We have become aware that some 3 Way Carriers from the above mentioned batches may have a manufacturing defect.

"This defect can cause the clips to fail and poses a risk to the user of the product."

Customers who have one of the affected items should stop using them immediately and contact Red Kite. You'll need your proof of purchase when you get in touch.

Argos has also issued a recall for two children's cots over safety fears.

The retailer said that in certain circumstances, the top rail of the cot could become detached from the main frame of the cot, leaving sharp points exposed.

The Cuggl Camborne Cots were on sale as part of a three-piece set and have the catalogue numbers 737/6483 and 737/8443.

Mothercare also recalled a children's toy key set over fears its battery holder could fall off.
